Skunk Lady Exposes “Marketing Complexity”

Social media.

SEO.

Direct Mail.

Media Buys.

Email.

Content Marketing.

Shall I continue?

There seems to be this idea floating out there in the Internet marketing world that Complexity = Success.

“Multi-channel marketing or die.”

Ha! I can’t think of worse advice for the yet-to-be-successful than “diversification of your marketing channels”.

Forget that.

Instead, what you need is The Two Step Marketing Formula.

Marketing in just two steps?

Impossible, right?

Wrong.

The Skunk Lady proves my point.

This is a true story:

The Skunk Lady was a park ranger who couldn’t hold on to a man for more than a date or two.

Why?

Because every time she brought him back to her place for a “night in” these men went screaming from her house. It smelled like skunk.

You see, part of her job as a park ranger was to trap animals. All kinds. Even and especially skunks.

That meant the stench of skunk followed her home.

She had a problem. A serious one.

And Proctor & Gamble had the solution.

Febreze.

This was back in the pre-launch faze of Febreze. They gave her some test samples.

She used them.

And then the steady boyfriend followed.

And then the massive profits for Proctor & Gamble followed too.

She had a problem. Proctor & Gamble had the solution.

Problem. Solution.

Two Step Marketing:

Find the problem.

Deliver the solution.

Social media, SEO, Direct Mail, Media Buys, Email, Content Marketing, are all just “delivery systems” for YOUR solution.

If you aren’t selling well, 9 times out of 10 it has nothing to do with your “delivery system”.

And everything to do with your solution.

Want to make money this weekend?

Find a problem.

Deliver the solution.

Is your info product sales page not converting even though you followed the “82 Step Copywriting Magikal Formula For Riches And Wealth”?

Then your problem is the SOLUTION ITSELF.

If your stuff doesn’t solve a problem, it won’t sell.

No matter how good at copywriting you are.

Period.

Two Step Marketing works.

Simplify and profit.

To your success,

Mike

P.S. Copywriting doesn’t need 82 steps to be effective. As a matter of fact, in my book Copywriting For The Rest Of Us I hand you a simple step-by-step template for creating high converting sales copy (19.42% conversion rates are the norm… but more on that later). You can grab a copy of it here:
